U.S. armed forces and law enforcement conducted operations in Caracas early Saturday, leading to Maduro's detention. Trump announced plans for American oil companies to invest billions in Venezuela's infrastructure to revitalize its oil industry.

Venezuela holds the world's largest proven oil reserves at approximately 300 billion barrels, surpassing even Saudi Arabia. Trump emphasized that the U.S. originally built Venezuela's oil sector and labeled its nationalization as "one of the largest thefts of American property in history." The U.S. oil embargo on Venezuela remains in full effect.
